This is a full-service expedition and everything on the mountain is included except your
personal items – clothing, equipment, and snack food. You will be
expected to carry your personal items on the mountain above base camp.
Normally this is less than 30 pounds (14 kilograms) and somewhat heavier
for the first leg from base camp to camp 1. Many members hire a
local to help carry their items up to camp 1. If you think you
will need extra help beyond this then you may hire a personal climbing
Sherpa.
Base camp is quite comfortable. We have a large dining tent for the team,
toilette tents and a shower tent. There is electricity during the evenings
(220 volt). We provide for you a sleeping tent and thick foam sleeping
mattress. Be sure to bring any specialty food items if you have any dietary
restrictions or foods you enjoy.
Some members choose to rent equipment from us in order to reduce the
weight of their checked luggage on the airlines.
See list of rental equipment here.
Profits from our 2010 Mustagata climb will help support Omprakash Foundation's "Traveling Librarian Project." If you would like to donate more, 100% of anything you pay above the $4,450 expedtion fee will go towards this project. Thanks for your support! http://omprakash.org/partners/travelinglibrarian (opens in new window).

Respectful Mountaineer
The local Kirghiz and Tashik people often hang around base camp, either
while grazing their sheep, bartering their wares, asking if they can carry
loads up the mountain, or just observing the oddities of foreign climbers.
Throughout the years we have developed good relationships with them. They
have assisted us and taken us into their homes. It is important to be
respectful and remember that we are guests and that our base camp sits
on their grazing lands.
